Abstract
In the article, the pedagogical approaches to the development of apersonalityoriented textbook, the requirements to pupils in the Azerbayjan Republic are analyzed. The purposes, the didactic fundamentals, and the methodological features of a modern textbook are represented. It is emphasized that the textbooks are different in their content entirety, structural integrity, repetition of the academic activity in a certain system, a focus on the practical skills formation, the propotion of a mutual synthesis of a text and the illustrative materials, the variety of styles serve as a tool for the pupils’ personality formation.
