Abstract

The article deals with the topic of curriculum development as a basis for the modernization of textbooks. The article presents the retrospective of the curriculum development in the national education system, the issue of modernization of school curriculum and transition from analytical program to curriculum based on competences. The relationship between school textbooks and curricula are identified, the main requirements for the development of new textbooks are presented.
