Abstract

This article is dedicated to the main functions of the Geography class. The main role of the class is determined as a place for communication, development and generating of knowledge with its propaganda in different types of education. The main equipment requirements for geography class are generalized. It is shown that well-equipped geography class stimulate motivation and interest of students to study geography. Opportunities of the class as space of activity approach that turns into a system of linked processes – teaching material to students and learning it by students – are disclosed. Every element of a classroom must create space of active interaction and provide with activity approach in studying. In general activity is aimed at activation of productive and rational generating of knowledge by a student and formation of necessary competence, its practical meaning, expansion of the sphere self-active learning and regulation of students’ educational activity, developmental essence of education through differentiation and personification of teaching and educational process is accented. The main tool of education of a man is considered to be activity. And all means of education and material and technical base of the classroom should lead to realization of activity approach in studying. Activity approach can be found at any stage of a lesson through different forms of education.
