Abstract

The article considers the methods of formation of consciousness and methods of formation of social behavior of young schoolchildren by means of using fairy tales in the educational process. The analysis of historical sources allows us to conclude that the issue of improving learning efficiency has been studied by many educators and researchers from around the world since the 17th century. The article defines the notions of “fairy tales”, “pedagogical creativity” as well as examines which fairy tales are recommended to be used for teachers in their work and what should be paid attention to when selecting such fairy tales. The study analyzes the features of the processes of perception and memorization of schoolchildren, then concluded that using fairy tales in the learning process is appropriate and effective. The “discussion” section focuses on specific ways to find ideas for fairy tales. It was determined that there are two such ways – appealing to well-known world problems, and creating a fairy tale based on a “living” example from the real life of the class team. The article also provides recommendations on what the teacher should pay attention to in order for the fairy tale to be both instructive and ethical, and offers suggestions for resolving the conflict situation – the basis of the fairy tale, by involving children in the process of writing a fairy tale and further discussion. The article outlines the main tasks and functions of fairy tales, which allow us to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of using fairy tales in the teaching process. The section “conclusions” summarizes that the fairy tale is an effective mechanism for forming a child’s consciousness and worldview. It is stated about the significant advantage of the fairy tale as a mechanism for understanding a specific problem from a scientific point of view and an effective mechanism for raising young schoolchildren.
