Abstract
Modern social-economic relations require definitely new approaches and methods of teaching English, especially when emergency remote teaching was introduced for an unlimited period of time. Selfeducation becomes one of the most important elements in the process of English language learning. Thus, it should be properly organized and managed. Teaching materials should also be thoroughly selected and structured. Flipped learning proves to be one of the most effective technologies that help the teachers reach their educational goal, especially during online teaching. Educational methods constantly changed in the course of time. Nowadays blended learning is gaining more and more popularity among practicing teacher. Owing to it we can successfully combine traditional approaches with e-learning, f-learning being one of the forms of e-learning. Taking into account level of knowledge, abilities and skills, which every student should possess to successfully pass his or her EVI English test, having analyzed the ways of students’ cognitive activity and effectiveness of “flipped learning”, its appropriateness at English language classes in the process of preparing fourth-year students for their EVI test has been proved and basic ideas on “flipped classroom” management have been offered. The teacher’s role is changing considerably from the simple lecturer to all-knowing expert responsible not only for the process of teaching itself but for its final result. F-learning aims at developing students’ abilities to analyze linguistic phenomena, set problems and find solutions, realize the purpose of the tasks, give definitions, paraphrase statements, verify information, comment on certain facts, debate, prove, criticize, write abstracts etc. That is exactly what is required from those who apply for Master’s degree. Moreover f-learning allows students to process large amount of information in a limited time, develop skills of self-education and critical thinking. The latter will help today’s students become able to meet competition in hard economic conditions of the modern world.
