Abstract

The self-assessment of first-year students’ health and the indicators of the successful sociopsychological adaptation are considered in the article. Admission to a higher educational institution means for students-freshmen a change in their social position, the way of educational activity, the change of the habitual connections for the students, relations and stereotypes of behavior. According to the results of the effectiveness of sociopsychological adaptation research a negative correlation with freshmen’s health self-assessment was revealed, that is, the more complaints about health, the lower the level of SPA. It can be argued that due to the huge study load during the period of adaptation to the new conditions, the appearance of daily complaints can be explained to the irrational regime of work and rest, which leads to a violation of the physiological state of the body and health worsening. Therefore, the physiological basis of the productivity of mental labor should be considered a gradual elaboration, the preservation of the usual sequence and systematic work, rational alternation of various forms of work and rest. It can be assumed that a more conscious attitude of student youth to the physical activity, is formed due to the purposeful efforts of teachers and trainers. Therefore, for a successful and faster process of socio-psychological adaptation of freshmen and their health preserving, students should be actively involved in various organized forms of physical education and sports.
