POLISH EXPERIENCE OF HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM REFORMING IN THE CONTEXT OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

Abstract

This paper attempts to reveal the Polish experience of higher education system reforming. An objective of this study was to investigate the distinguishing features of Polish higher education system reforming in the context of European integration and examine the peculiarities of its development in the EHEA. Having chosen the European direction of development the Republic of Poland has undergone extensive transformations in the national system of higher education. Poland stillkeeps higher education improving according to the latest regional and global trends as it seeks to ensure the highest level and quality of European education and science. Modern Polish higher education, built on the principles of education democratization through the adoption of European values, has become an integral part of the EHEA. This paper discusses the tendencies of Polish educational system development as part of the EHEA. The relevance of higher education system of the Republic of Poland to the basic principles of EHEA has been highlighted. Each stage of reformation requires a new legislative framework and a new law on higher education. The paper traces the stages of the educational sector reforming and its relationship with the adoption of a new law on higher education. The paper describes the current state of Polish higher education development. Marked by gains and losses of the reforming experience, the meaning and content of higher education modernization in Poland has been analyzed. The paper reveals trends changes in the future Law on higher education 2.0, which is to mark the modern stage of reforms in Polish higher education system.
