Abstract
In this article, the theoretical analysis of the concept of “innovative activities” is conducted, and three approaches to defining the essence of this concept were identified; they are the following: implementing, integrative and combinational approaches. The advocates of the first approach consider innovative activities as activities aimed at the commercialization and use of scientific research and development; the advocates of the second approach find out them as a process of creation and use of intellectual products. The third approach is a combination of the first two ones. Two logical and structure models of “innovative activities” are proposed: one-step model, describing the process of “innovation and implementation activities” and two-step model, describing the process of “research and innovative activities”. The first model contains only practical (implementation) phase associated with the search, selection of innovations, their testing, adaptation, diffusion and subsequent use. According to the second model, structure of “research and innovative activities” also comprises theoretical (research) phase, which includes actions to develop ideas, new knowledge and present them in a form ready for implementation in practice (“innovative and research activities”). The essence and structure of “innovative activities”, “research and innovative activities”, “innovative and research activities”, “innovative and implementation activities” and their place in the overall system of the studied concepts were described and defined. The difference between “innovative and research activities” and “research and innovative activities” that eliminates controversy over the ambiguous interpretation of these categories in previo us studies was found. The concept of “research and innovative activities” was considered as comprehensive innovative activities aimed at obtaining new knowledge, its formalization in a certain product and its practical use in professional activities in order to en hance its efficiency.
