Abstract

The article substantiates the peculiarities of the competence approach to the teaching of world history, reveals the ways of its realization, analyzes the essence of the subject historical competence, describes the basic requirements for a competence-oriented textbook on history, for the formation of logical competence of students of the 7th form. The author emphasizes that this approach to the teaching of world history can not be limited only to the formation of the subject competence, but also involves the development of key competencies. Despite the accumulated domestic scientific and methodological work on various issues of competence education, its ideas are only beginning to be systematically implemented in the educational process and require a dynamic adaptation to the needs of historical education, in particular to the new conditions, programs, teaching and methodological support for world history subject in the 7th form (period - Middle Ages). In the opinion of the authors of the project “New Ukrainian School: Fundamentals of the Standard of Education”, the competence approach is a bridge that combines school with the real world and the needs that life demands. In other words, this is both the educational strategy of the country, which opens up qualitatively new perspectives for school, and the indicator of personal growth of students. That is why the task of scientists is to reflex social changes, to implement them in the educational process, to adapt to the requirements of specific subjects.
