Abstract

The article deals with pedagogical strategies for the development of leadership competencies in higher education students. The relevance of the topic is due to the rapid changes in the global society and the labor market, where graduates of higher education institutions are required not only to have deep professional knowledge, but also to be able to effectively manage, make decisions and work in a team. Leadership competencies are one of the key characteristics of a modern professional, as they facilitate adaptation to dynamic working conditions, self-realization and development of managerial skills.

Pedagogical strategies that contribute to the formation and development of these competencies include innovative teaching methods, interactive approaches, development of critical thinking and social skills.

The article analyzes modern approaches to pedagogical activities aimed at developing leadership competencies. In particular, pedagogical models based on the principles of active learning, student participation in project activities, as well as the use of group work and training methods to develop team skills and leadership qualities are considered. The importance of mentoring and coaching technologies that help students develop independence in decision-making and the ability to take responsibility for performance is revealed.

Particular attention is paid to the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills through the implementation of curricula and projects that stimulate students’ active participation in the learning process. The influence of the educational environment on the formation of leadership competencies is analyzed, in particular the importance of student involvement in student government, international academic mobility programs, internships, and research.

The problem of developing leadership competencies is complex and multifaceted, as it requires a synergy of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that ensure the successful functioning of future leaders in various spheres of public life. The article also draws attention to those aspects of leadership competencies that have not yet been fully researched and require further attention from scholars and practitioners in the field of higher education. The results of the study can be used to improve curricula, develop methodological recommendations for teachers and educational managers, and will contribute to the training of future leaders capable of effective interaction in modern society.
