Abstract
In the article, the competence bases for the creation of a modern textbook are studied. The definition of this term was provided, and the principal statements of the competence-based educational approach were observed; its requirements for the contemporary educational and educative literature were specified. The main challenges in preparing teachers for the educational literature design, applying to the competence-based approach statements in the process of creation textbooks and manuals were defined. The ways for the solution of these problems in the professional teachers’ education (in correspondence with the competence-based approach), the improvement of the teachers’ qualification in the institutes of the post-graduate pedagogical education in the system of the comprehensive educational institution methodological work were found out.
