Abstract
The authors of the article, united in a group to conduct scientific research to clarify the issue of the prospects for the development of the subject of economics, because it is derived from the basic model plan. The study of the state of economic education in Ukraine (February-May, 2019) has become an important stage of scientific substantiation of NUS issues. There were research questions in three aspects, from the perspectives of educators, parents, and economics teachers. It is a question of correlation between the abilities of the educational recipients and their professional choice, psychological readiness for independent economic activity, self-assessment of the level of knowledge in economics, choice of future profession, etc. On the basis of the results of the study methodological guidance on career building was developed. In particular, the development of financial literacy training programs for adolescents and young people (12-24 years old), the choice of future profession in line with current scientific and social needs, the development of a vocational guidance workplace HLS with the definition of concrete results they wish to achieve, the profession of the future and knowledge and skills you may need. It details what skills do need to be formed in the near future? These are communication skills, teamwork and project management, empathy, creativity and critical thinking, media literacy and knowledge of the basics of information technology, financial literacy, and more. The work was carried out in accordance with the R&D Implementation Plan "Scientific and methodological provision of competently-oriented education of economics and geographical courses of economic orientation in high schools and lyceums" for 2019 (resolution of the Presidium of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine dated 15.06.2017, protocol № 1-2 / 9-205) and item 139 of planning of work State Scientific Institution "Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education" for 2019 (May 4, 2019 (the order of DNU "Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education"). Consequently, the study has convinced us that the subject of economics is urgently needed and worth revisiting as a compulsory level of study. As a result, we advise students to choose not a specialty at the university, but a direction, develop new professional skills in higher education institutions, attend certain courses, constantly monitor the reforms in their field of activity and the need to study for life
