Abstract

The article discusses the ideas of the prominent Ukrainian educator - academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor Semen Honcharenko, who contributed significantly to the development of the methodology of domestic pedagogy. The scope of pedagogical ideas and depth of understanding pedagogical innovations allowed the scientist to accurately predict ways of humanitarization of educational space. The scientific heritage of S.Honcharenko is an example of a harmonious consolidation of fundamental and humanitarian approaches to understanding and designing the educational processes. Creating the conceptual foundations of modern education S. Honcharenko defended on the humanitarian grounds the idea to involve pupil’s youth into universal values during the process of acquiring holistic knowledge about the phenomena and laws of the development of nature, society, man and awareness of the ways of implementing “humanized” knowledge in practical activity. According to the scientific positions of S. Honcharenko, humanization and humanitarization are distinguished as two independent methodological principles that are in interaction, but have their own goals and objectives. While the humanization of educational processes primarily affects the sphere of relationships, the humanitarization of education determines the scale of thinking and comprehension of the final result of education in cultural dimensions. Modern socio-cultural paradigm implies the harmony of the components of national and cultural experience: science, culture, art. This educational paradigm does not contradict the fundamentalization of the educational process, on the contrary - integrates with it, enriching its values. The humanitarization of education, according to the ideas of S. Honcharenko, urgently requires a reorientation from the substantive-content principle of teaching the fundamentals of science to study the integral picture of the world, to broadcast not “pure”, but “humanized” knowledge based on the basic values of humanity. The renewal of the Ukrainian school, the transition to the competence dimension of education, attention to the integration of knowledge of pupil’s youth and the formation of emotional intelligence of pupils – all are signs of the appeal of social thought to the problem of the humanization of the educational space on the basis of “adsorption” of universal values. All this testifies that the reflection of the scientific heritage of S.Honcharenko has already begun and awaits the systematic study.
